March this year has been full on, from arranging a year of mini and not so mini 60th birthday celebrations for my hubby. To getting ready for my exhibition at The Castle in Bude and Cornwall Open Studios, writing and home renovating, BUT I am not complaining.
The busier the better for me, as it keeps my mind flooded with ideas for future essays to create my original artwork. So going back to my exhibitions the dates are the following;
The Blanchminster Gallery at The Castle, Bude Saturday 11th April to Thursday 30th April 10am till 5pm daily.

I will be having a Meet The Artist session on Sunday 12th April 2pm till 4pm. Joining me will be Julie Wrathall, one of the UK’s leading Encaustic Artist, http://www.artyheaven.com, who is also showing her work as part of the ‘Homecoming’ exhibition. This is, for me, about my journey and love for Cornwall that started 40 years ago as a teenager and over the years of visiting Cornwall it is a dream come true to now be able to call my home. Please do come and see the 14 pieces of work I will be showing, each piece is made with Cornwall at the heart of it. From the essays written, photographs taken, sketches made, all about this beautiful county that has informed each piece I have created. Some are abstract, semi or a cheeky view of places seen. This is just the beginning of what will be a beautiful, joyful and new creative way of working. I can’t wait to show you all the work as it is completed. Please do follow along on Instagram to watch the progress of new pieces as well as completed original artwork. – Sammy xx
