Summer Sun and Antics

Well we are all experiencing a different Summer compared to 2019, hopefully 2022 will be different but for now I guess it is all about keeping each other safe and the virus at bay. Though this Summer I have been able to plan and spend time with family and friends with belated big birthday celebrations from last year.
In June, pre blog, I released a new collection of work called “My Painted Journal of 2020”
All the pieces of the collection are based on writings from my journal from which I produced my essay as part of my creative process. Each piece is based on one of the news stories that I had written about in my journal. The collection was shown at the 3rd Bloomz International Arthouse online event.

The Bloomz – I am part of an art collective of 12 artists from Canada, Italy, Australia and the UK. We have an online Art Show a few times a year and this September 24th & 25th, two dates but 3 shows, will be our first anniversary. It is unlike any other online art show as you not only get to see the work from around the world but also meet the artists and have the opportunity to discuss their work. I will only be showing for One Night Only on the Friday so do book to come and see me, I may have completed a few new works by then.
Last month I designed some personalised stationary to send out with my artwork to my collectors. When you purchase a piece of my original artwork you will now receive a beautiful presentation file which will contain a precise of my essay that was used to create the piece, business card, post card and this will be wrapped in tissue and a beautiful seal with my artwork printed on it to hold it all together.
It was so lovely to get out to attended the Newbury Contemporary Art Fair at the beginning of this month. There was a wide range of art available to buy from Fine Art, Sculpture to Glass and Gin! Other than a few power cuts it was a great way to spend a few hours, also met up with two of The Bloomz girls, which was lovely. There is another Contemporary Art Fair in Windsor 12th -14th November, so if you are free I would recommend you pop along.
I am still Powerhooping, I have managed to start hooping in the direction of my less dominate side, which might not sound much but for me it is a fabulous achievement. As an artist I need to do some exercise to keep me from seizing up, as standing at the easel does cause my back to ache.
More importantly, I was given the most beautiful birthday gift last month as my second Grandson was born on my birthday, how special was that xxx The little family are all doing well.

- Open Studio weekend – Sat 30th & Sun 31st October 10:30am – 4pm (more info to follow)
Paintings & Prosecco Evenings will return –
The Paintings and Prosecco evening is always great fun with you being able to come over for a drink and relax while looking at my artwork.
I share the process and the stories behind all the pieces and am able to answer any questions that you may have about the artwork.
It is an enjoyable evening to come along too.
At the moment it is likely to return in Spring 2022 but more information will follow.
I will be having an Open Studio Weekend, which is less the party atmosphere but just as enjoyable.
There is no hard sell, if you want to buy then obviously I won’t say no.
I also offer a complimentary delivery service within a 25mile radius if your purchase won’t fit into your car.
